The primary use of ROIs is for statistical testing . The ROIs are computed on-the-fly, reducing data dimensionality and increasing the signal to noise ratio (plus, it's cool).
You can simply re-process your data and reduce their dimensionalities / increase their signal to noise ratios.
Or you can enhance the visualization of your data:
seeing the ROIs in the Potential Display (in the case of electrodes),
seeing the ROIs in the Inverse Solution display (in the case of solution points).
