Technical Requirements

Cartool is designed to run exclusively on Windows. To ensure optimal performance, your system should meet the following requirements:

 

For Mac Users:

Cartool has been reported to work well under the Parallels VM on macOS. However, some adjustments to the OpenGL settings may be required for optimal functionality.

Rights & Commercial License

The Cartool Software, under Apache 2 License, is free for anyone to use, modify and distribute (including commercially), provided the license and copyright notice are included, and changes documented. See the full Cartool GitHub license text.

 

Commercial Licenses, however, are available and highly recommended for any commercial use of Cartool. For any questions or license requests, please contact UNITEC:

UNITEC, the University of Geneva's Transfer of Technology office.

Publications Citation

When using Cartool to process, manipulate, or display data in your research, it is mandatory to cite the software in any resulting publications. Additionally, the substantial public funding that supports the development of this software must be properly acknowledged.
